Dear JLab LQCD Cluster User,
It has come to our attention that /cache is being used to store log files, software build files and downloaded code. /cache is a storage area intended for large files that will be backed to tape and the before mentioned files can impact system performance and organization.
As a reminder files should be stored in the appropriate file-system areas as noted below:
* /work: software distributions and small data sets.
* /volatile: logs and any temporary files.
* /cache: large files intended to be backed to tape.
If you are unsure of the appropriate location for your files please email me directly at amitoj at jlab.org<mailto:amitoj at jlab.org>. More information on the various file-systems is available here -> https://www.jlab.org/lqcd/filesystems
