JLab's experimental physics data analysis cluster has recently been running mostly I/O intensive jobs, leaving many idle compute cycles for analysis and simulations (see attached graph from https://cc.jlab.org/ganglia/ganglia/?c=PBS%20Farm%20Cluster&m=load_one&r=month&s=descending&hc=4&mc=2). If you have analysis or simulation jobs planned, consider submitting them now to utilize idle cycles.

In addition, 32 new 16 core Sandy Bridge nodes have arrived onsite to be installed into the farm. The new machines require CentOS 6.2 and will be available in July; an early test system for interactive use is "ifarm", in preparation now. A modest amount of /work space will also be added; Physics' computing coordinators will allocate the new space.

See scicomp.jlab.org for more system usage details.
