Dear MOLLER collaborator:
I want to share with you my personal impressions from the remarks at the closeout by Tim Hallman, who chaired the MOLLER Science Review. In a week or two, I will be given a report that can be shared with the full collaboration. But the main message is that the committee strongly endorsed the science goals of MOLLER and would like to see the collaboration pursue the stated ultimate error goal. They will emphasize that the ultimate error is what makes the case compelling. They acknowledged that the physics outcome would be one of the best EW tests at low energy in the next decade. They commended the technical progress and highlighted the theoretical cleanliness of the process. They urged us to pursue the plans to cross-check the A_PV theory prediction accounting for 2-loop effects and experimental cutoffs. They recommended that we take a more careful look at the inelastic proton and Al backgrounds.
The following link has all the final presentation slides.

This is the start of a long road to build the experiment. We can (briefly) pause to contemplate a job well-done. The momentum generated here will help us during the LRP process. And we have to continue making technical progress on the design. Even though it wasn’t part of the review charge, our recent pre-R&D and engineering efforts and the accomplishments of Qweak and PREX clearly helped the positive outcome.
I want to thank all those who helped with the preparation of slides and also the speakers and again thank Michael for hosting the meeting at UMass.
cheers, KK
