Dear MOLLER collaborator:

I am very pleased to pass on the news given to me and JLab management just now: that MOLLER has successfully obtained Mission Need (CD0) approval from DOE on December 21, 2016. This is a major milestone forward and we should all be proud for having put in the dedicated effort that was required to achieve this goal.

The email messages with this intimation from the Office of Nuclear Physics contained many more details of the path forward that I will be reading carefully and discussing with JLab management and then I will pass along a summary to you.

One particular point that I will immediately mention is that a cautionary point was added to the congratulatory notes: that the funds required for MOLLER have not yet been identified. Clearly, this is an issue of budgets at the DOE as a whole and the office of Nuclear Physics in particular.

In the meantime, I want to thank all of you again for your efforts and I will be in touch about our next steps soon.

Cheers, KK
