[Moller] [EXTERNAL] Update on Dec. 2019 MOLLER Design Review and Upcoming pre-CD1 Review

Dear MOLLER collaborator,

We're writing to update you on the status of MOLLER reviews.

The Conceptual Design Review took place on Thursday/Friday Dec. 12 - 13, 
2019.  We had two days of excellent presentations and extensive 
discussions with the committee on the technical issues of the 
experiment.  Thanks to all the people involved who made this review and 
the Conceptual Design Report that fed into it a success.

The committee membership and draft recommendations and responses are in 
the attached document;  this is from the review closeout.  We have just 
received (Friday evening Jan 3) the full report from the committee chair 
and are in the midst of fact-checking, as is customary when a draft 
report is first provided.

Our next step is a Director's pre-CD-1 Review on January 14 - 16, 2020.  
The goal of this review is to assess the readiness of the MOLLER project 
for the anticipated DOE CD-1 review.  Planning is well underway for this 
review, and the agenda will primarily consist of presentations by 
members of the project team, though the two of us will have introductory 
talks on the first day to introduce the science and the conceptual design.

We wish you all a Happy New Year, and we look forward to what will 
likely be a busy year for MOLLER.
