Dear colleagues,
The MOLLER Annual DOE Office of Project Assessment (OPA) Independent
Project Review took place last week (Nov. 2 - 4). This was an annual
review conducted by the DOE to assess the overall status of the project.
The agenda and complete talks for this review are posted in the DocDB:

Here are Jim's comments about the review:
I want to thank you all again for your hard work that has gotten us to
where we are today. The OPA review went very well, as you can see in
the attached closeout presentation.
We have a few recommendations to address and there are some good
comments for our consideration as well, but we definitely cleared the
bar with plenty of margin.
I do want to highlight a comment from Paul Mantica (ONP) during the
closeout. He was very impressed with the tight integration of the
physicists and engineers and the iterative design/simulation you all
have been doing. He recognizes the importance of this to the success of
a high precision measurement and it was clear to him how closely the
teams are working together. Well done.
We got a universal “well done” from all the reviewers, as well as “but
there is a lot of wok remaining to get to CD-2/3.”
Again, many thanks to you all – especially the grad students, postdocs,
engineers and designers who are plugging away to get the designs finished.
Best regards,
KK, Jim, and Mark
