Dear MOLLER collaborators:
We wanted to follow up Jim’s note.
First of all, we congratulate Jim on his new position. We all know that he is going to be an extremely effective leader of the JLab EIC efforts.
It is fair to say that the MOLLER MIE project wouldn’t be where it is now if it wasn’t for Jim’s outstanding leadership, his effectiveness in assembling the project team and his productive working relationship with each and every member of the team. Our collaboration owes him an enormous debt of gratitude. He will be tough to replace.
We have been in close touch with Lab management and Jim about how and when the transition will take place. As he notes, the details are still being worked out. Clearly, an important factor will be who will take over the role of PM and also importantly the advertised position of deputy PM. This is very high on the priority list for JLab management in order to ensure a smooth transition for both MOLLER and JLab EIC.
We are all well aware that the next 3 to 4 months are an extremely critical time for the MOLLER project. Lab management from the Director on down have assured us that they will not jeopardize the progress and momentum we have already generated.
As Jim has pointed out, he is still very much engaged. We expect that his input will be particularly critical until we get past the CD-2/CD-3 gates.
If any of you have any specific concerns, do not hesitate to contact one of us.
Cheers,
KK, Mark and Kent
