The abstracts are due October 23rd. I can coordinate if there are any overlaps in talks. Please ask them to email me a copy of the abstract before submission. https://summit.aps.org/attend/abstracts/ Regards! -- Rakitha Beminiwattha Associate Professor of Physics Office: Engineering Annex 210 Louisiana Tech University Tel No. 318 257 2435 https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1473-1651 From tuf43817 at temple.edu Tue Oct 21 11:06:40 2025 From: tuf43817 at temple.edu (Jim Napolitano) Date: Tue, 21 Oct 2025 15:06:40 +0000 Subject: [Moller] [EXTERNAL] Communications during potential JLab Furlough Message-ID: <629DC451-A171-4B15-A110-92E5C4F58BE2@temple.edu> Dear MOLLER Collaboration, The Information Curation committee informs me that If JLAB does go into the furlough shutdown, then the farm will likely be shut down, there will be no ssh access to the lab, and we will not be able to use JLAB email. The committee is going to do a wikidump to preserve the wiki and possibly start a version at another institution. We recommend that working group conveners email their working groups to obtain alternate emails to continue to be able to communicate with group members during the shutdown. With the support of the Department of Energy, Jefferson Lab expects to extend full operations through mid-November. The specific date will be communicated once it is determined. We continue to evaluate funding options to extend operations for as long as possible for as many people as possible. Tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 22) will be designated as a paid holiday. Normal operations will resume Thursday, Oct. 23, and staff should report to work as scheduled. A more comprehensive set of FAQs will be shared as soon as possible. For now, here is some important information we can share: * Medical Benefits: Premiums are fully covered through Nov. 30, 2025. For December, Anthem and Optima provide a 31-day grace period to maintain coverage if full premiums cannot be collected. We are currently exploring options to meet financial obligations to extend coverage through January. * Voluntary Vacation Use: To help delay a labwide furlough for as long as possible, we are requesting that those with 200 or more hours of vacation consider using vacation by Nov. 7. * Furlough Vacation Use: We are still exploring the legal requirements and if the use of vacation hours during a furlough is allowable. * Media Engagement: If approached by the media, do not engage and refer to them to communications at jlabinfo at jlab.org. * Holiday Work: If the lab is closed for a holiday, staff and users are not to work unless otherwise approved by their division leader. This means they are not to come on-site or work from home.? Additionally, we continue to maintain our cost-saving measures (including limiting travel, procurements, hiring, etc.) to preserve resources and sustain operations. We sincerely thank you, our staff, as well as the DOE for its vital partnership and support during this time. We understand the stress this uncertainty may cause and continue to prioritize safety, your well-being and mission delivery. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this time together. The intent is to start to bring our focus further down the road, beyond project completion and installation, where we will need to be prepared with the tools and knowledge to efficiently use our completed apparatus to achieve our proposed precision. The core of the agenda will be regular progress reports from the working groups. This meeting is not primarily about fabrication or assembly of hardware, and it is not meant to be a comprehensive report from each group. The purpose is to develop topics relevant for physics analysis, looking forward to the start of data collection. Other contributions to the meeting will also be welcome. Please send me any specific ideas you have for agenda items for future meetings. All my best, Kent -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
