I am very pleased to pass on the news given to me and JLab management just now: that MOLLER has successfully obtained Mission Need (CD0) approval from DOE on December 21, 2016. This is a major milestone forward and we should all be proud for having put in the dedicated effort that was required to achieve this goal.<br class="gmail_msg">

The email messages with this intimation from the Office of Nuclear Physics contained many more details of the path forward that I will be reading carefully and discussing with JLab management and then I will pass along a summary to you.<br class="gmail_msg">

One particular point that I will immediately mention is that a cautionary point was added to the congratulatory notes: that the funds required for MOLLER have not yet been identified. Clearly, this is an issue of budgets at the DOE as a whole and the office of Nuclear Physics in particular.<br class="gmail_msg">

In the meantime, I want to thank all of you again for your efforts and I will be in touch about our next steps soon.<br class="gmail_msg">
