Dear Colleague,
According to those who have participated in the poll to schedule regular
phone meetings for MOLLER integrating detector development, it seems
that tomorrow, Friday, at 10:00 am central works best to have a first
meeting.
I think the first meeting should be primarily about organizing the group.
Here is a suggested loose agenda (not exclusive and not necessarily in
this order).
If you have items to add just respond to this message.
1) Update everyone on the status of development (who is doing what)
- Idaho
- Manitoba
- Ohio
- Stony Brook
- Syracuse
- W&M
- New efforts at other places ?
2) Organization of regular phone meetings
3) Short organizational discussion about the upcoming beam tests in Mainz
I think this is all we can realistically get through in an hour.
In future meetings, I think the overarching goal of the group should be
to address the
following open issues:
- simulations of background in the detector region
- realistic detector design (geometries, etc.), mounting design,
and shielding, based on simulations with background
- determination of actual detector rates (with the above accounted
for)
- efficiency expectations for the "other" rings (e-p, inelastic,
super elastic, etc.)
- prototype design and testing of the shower max detectors
- prototype design and testing of the pion detectors
- electronics needs for every detector (PMTs, ADCs, etc.)
- other stuff that I am forgetting ...
