Hi all,

I had the opportunity to go down to the hall, position the table
and take some pictures.
Cheers!

Three things:

1) We need the nominal position of the pivot (the point around
which the table rotates).
In other words, when the table is moved all the way to beam
right (the right side when looking in the direction of the
beam), is the pivot lined up with beam pipe ?

2) How far is the beam left-right motion?

3) How far is the beam pipe from the table (upstream or
downstream edge) ?

Also, did you get my e-mail with the photo showing the
vertical arrangement of one of our prototypes? I asked
if there was enough room above the beam line to mount the
detector that way (reaching up about 80 cm above
the beam line, angled at about 45 degrees).

Remind me to buy you a nice dinner when I am there ...

Thanks,
Betreff: prototype tests and mounting structure
URGENT

Hi everyone,

There have been a flurry of e-mails over the
Atlantic regarding all the
measurements
and dimensions needed to design our various
detector mounts, but some
information is still
missing. I am starting to feel really bad about
all of the information
we as asking Kathrin to
supply, but we can't build our mounting structures
without it (sorry
Kathrin).

I am now very concerned about the complications in
getting all the
numbers. Realistically,
I think we need a minimum of two weeks to ship
everything to Mainz
(including possible holdups
at customs) and we need things to be there by the
time we show up, so
that we have time to set
up. So that means that we have to ship the
packages by Monday or
Tuesday. If we don't get all the
information we need within the next day or so,
there won't be enough
time to complete the mounting
structure. At that point, we would be faced with
having to ask the Mainz
group to help us make the
mounting structure there, before we arrive and I'd
rather not have to do
that.

Regards,

Michael
