We have made significant progress in the design of the integrating
detector front-end electronics and are working toward <br>
the finalization the first ADC board prototype. To this end, we need
to address a few questions regarding the interface<br>
of the board with the rest of the DAQ system, both on the trigger
and clock end, as well as the readout end. We will<br>
shortly obtain access to professional electronics support through
TRIUMF and an NSERC MRS facility at Queens, to <br>
help us design the board layout. Before using these resources, I
would like to be certain that we have addressed all<br>
constraints from the the rest of the experiment. <br>
<br>
To this end, I'd like to call a phone meeting sometime before the
next collaboration meeting to get started. I envision this<br>
first meeting to consist of a short overview presentation on the
electronics chain (for those who are not very familiar with <br>
it already), followed by a more in-depth presentation on the
functionality and current design status of the ADC board (in <br>
particular), and a discussion about the list of remaining issues to
be fixed. Ideally, this meeting would be followed by a <br>
meeting with the JLab DAQ group and the main experts on this from
within the collaboration, before the collaboration <br>
meeting, followed by a presentation and discussion at the next
collaboration meeting. If possible, I would like to go into <br>
the summer (and to the professionals) with a consensus on what we
need/want.<br>

For the first phone meeting I want to try and use the regularly
scheduled detector meeting, but I want to give other <br>
people in the collaboration the opportunity to call in as well, if
they are interested. The meeting connection is listed<br>
below and our next regularly scheduled meeting would be March 7, but
if you feel strongly about attending this particular <br>
meeting, but cannot meet at the regular detector meeting time,
please let me know and I will try and schedule a separate <br>
meeting.<br>
