[Moller_l2] Homework (so far)

Hi Jim,
Adding to Probirs answer for the mechanical aspects:
We have installed an LCW supply temperature sensor in Hall A to confirm the inlet water temp stability.
See plots attached. (not a lot of data but so far so good.)

So far it looks pretty good. The gap in the data was during an IOC communication drop out.
The data follows pretty well the outlet temperature of the Building 92 water temperature and when all is working well that has been quite stable.

The control system for the magnet cooling water at a high level has two primary ways to keep the water temperature stable.

  1. Control the water flow of the LCW which is the primary heat sinlk
  2. An Electric Heater (Presently 30kW) to keep the reservoir in the chiller constant if fine tuning is needed.

  1.

Team,

Here is what I have pulled together so far from what you have provided and my understanding.

  * Phil is pulling P6 data to address slide 9.
  * I am still looking for everyone’s input on slide 10
  * It would be good to put the PS stability and measurement challenges on slide 6 rather than deferring so we can keep talks on time.

Folks,

Here is what we have so far:

See attached:

  * Questions for Javier about labor over next year 9probably need to address this looking issue in re-planning exercise this month – they have good points).
  * Questions for all of us, but mostly detectors, about supply chain issues (quartz, PMTs, epoxies etc).

For me:

For the 10 am session tomorrow morning we would like to get some more information about the project plan toward CD2, e.g. how to track progress on the design, dealing with uncertainties on the budget profile, and procurement schedule/strategy. This will probably be covered in detail in the management parallel session but not everybody will be attending.

For Spectrometer team:

Other than that we would just like to mention a couple of additional technical points that would probably be best addressed during the spectrometer presentations:

  * Composite samples preparation and irradiation results are needed to finalize shielding requirements. How is this accounted for in the current design?
  * Magnetic field strength stability over 24h: can you provide some more details about main challenges from both the power supply stability and measurement accuracy standpoint

I think it would be good to meet at 9 am to discuss answers and flesh out slides to present. Please send responses (prefer in PPTX) prior to 9:00.
