<p>Today is a Beam study day with maintenance occurring in the background. All work conducted during this period will need an approved ATLis/ePAS permit (PTW/MWP/RRD; if needed) or BSList. For previously approved work that wasn't started or completed, it will need to be called out in the comments before proceeding. This is to ensure all work has been called out to Operability as well as related system SMEs. Also, we want to make sure surrounding conditions are still relevant. Work/beam requests submitted without satisfying these conditions will not be permitted at this time. Please submit requests through the Tasklist system and call me (x7296) if immediate approval is needed. If assistance is needed with submitting a PTW/MWP or RRD, please contact Lanitra Butler (lbutler at jlab.org, x7052). All beam studies must be reviewed by Ops and approved before being considered for execution. Here is the plan:</p><p>The day will start at 0600 when Ops will prepare for a high current run
that wil
l include beam to halls A and C. Preparation entails taking beam diagnostic saves to reference during beam restoration later in the day. During this beam study, all the halls will remain closed. Once the study concludes around 1000, the maintenance period will begin and only the halls will open to perform work in the enclosures. The main machine will remain closed as all concerning work will occur above ground. At the same time, Beam Studies will continue but limited in the INJ and to the ILD. All (main accelerator) work must be wrapped up by 1600 (early Swing shift) and turned over to Ops to begin beam restoration. The plan is to get beam back to the halls by mid-late Swing shift. </p><div><div>Any questions, comments, or concerns can be directed to the CC (x7045), PD (x7997), or myself (x7296). Please take the time to perform your walkthroughs and pre-job briefs. Be mindful of yourself and surroundings as your work progresses. Take needed breaks as there is no rushing
here. M
ake timely updates on your ATLis/BSList entries so all interested parties can track work progress. Should be an easy day. Thank you for your service to CEBAF.</div><div> </div><div>For the latest list of activities being conducted today, please take a look at the <a href="https://ace.jlab.org/calendar/view-day?calendar=1&yearMonthDay=2025-08-13">SAM Calendar - August 13 2025</a></div></div>
