Mott work summary for last 24 hours is shown below. For those off-site you can access electronic logbook (https://logbooks.jlab.org) with your JLAB username and password to view all entries, pictures, plots, etc.
Last 24 hours (Mon SWING=Matt, Tue OWL=David)
---------------------------------------------
1. Last night recovered KE=5.0MeV and vertical polarization, checked OK with 1um gold.
2. Swapped from finicky delay modules to delay lines, but timing didn't work so backed out and will address after running
3. Quick survey of 7 gold foils to determine rate, effective AP, run times for the shifts
4. Spent 11 hours taking equal elastic statistics on gold: 5um, 1um, 0.75um, 0.35um, (2) 0.05um
5. One CODA reset
6. Marty/Riad - There looks to be an error in the calculated physics uncertainty, associated with the sign of the measured physics asymmetry. For example equal statistics measurements can produce an uncertainty of X and 4X depending on sign of asymmetry, so likely a math typo in the analysis macro. Can you please have a look and document findings in POLOG today?
Next 24 hours (Tue SWING=Marcy, Wed OWL=David)
----------------------------------------------
1. Recover KE=5.0MeV and vertical polarization, check OK on 1um gold
2. Survey four Ag foils and run for ~0.5% statistics (~9 hours of SWING into OWL)
3. Spend remaining time in OWL collecting more 31MHz on 0.05um Au and 5um Au for comparison w/ 499MHz run
Final 24 hours (Wed SWING=Joe, Thu OWL=David)
---------------------------------------------
1. John will return C laser to 499MHz
2. Riad will use ~4 hr to test emittance measurement in 0L region w/ Chris Tennant
3. Joe will setup comparative Au measurements @ 499MHz with 5um (least dump events) and 0.05um (most dump events)
4. Run until end of OWL, thus completing our ~2 weeks of Mott studies
