[Mott] Run II dates

Folks,

People with various injector interests met yesterday to hash out how we can share injector time the next ~5 weeks. The schedule we settled on (see attached) proposes Oct 23-26 for Mott Run II. We can ask for different dates, but I think these benefit us - we don't suffer from start-up delays early this month and we avoid being near higher priority jobs scheduled the week of Nov. 2.

Please let me know by Wednesday's meeting your availability during this period.

The only consideration is that during this period Operations will be simultaneously testing cryomodules (changing gradients and measuring RF trip rates). Two cryomodules are not far downstream of the Mott (0L03 and 0L04 for those who know the lingo). The implication is that if we need to access the polarimeter (unlikely, but possible) we'll need to coordinate a good time to do so - so maybe not immediate access. The other factor is that many years ago when the Mott was in the main beam line we had backgrounds from these downstream modules due to field emission. We would just turn them off, but that won't be possible during this period. It's been awhile since we made "an experiment" of this, but I believe with the Mott in it's own line, with all the shielding and TOF particularly, we won't have any problem. But, forewarned means we can be forearmed, or at least keep in mind.

We can discuss this more at Wednesday's meeting too.

Best,
Joe
