[Mott] Sections of Mott publication

Dear All,
I have decided that it makes sense to send along various sections of our
forthcoming 5 MeV Mott Polarimeter paper, rather than wait until the
entire draft is complete. This allows everyone to read, and make
corrections/comments/etc. about these sections without having to wade
through what is going to be a much longer document. I did send around
an earlier version, which had largely completed sections as well as
sections in development - this was not a good idea. And, to date, only
Tim has bothered to respond to this early e-mail with comments.
I have attached two sections I regard as nominally complete - the
Abstract and the Introduction, along with the Acknowledgments and
References. They are a bit different that what was sent earlier (if
anyone looked). I would greatly appreciate it if each of you would find
the time to read through and correct or comment on these sections within
a reasonable period of time. This will allow me to incorporate
necessary changes relatively easily, rather than in a flood at the
"end". I am actively working on several additional sections, and will
send another installment around before too long. There are a few places
where I am uncertain about a number or name or some such, and these are
shown in red. We (someone other than me) will need to supply the
correct information here, as I presently do not have it.
So - please read and get comments and corrections back to me. I'm hoping
that with the recent progress, we can get this thing out the door not
too far into the New Year.
Best,
Charlie
