[Mott] Markups of sections I have sent out

Dear All,

Well, I'm cautiously optimistic that my present scheme of sending out
only nominally completed sections of the forthcoming Mott paper is
working, as I have received comments now from several folks on what I've
sent out to date. I should have another section or two ready to go
fairly soon. It is clear to me that there will be more than enough
"comments and corrections" and such that I will not be able to address
each one individually. Accordingly, I thought I should tell everyone how
I will deal with such comments, corrections, etc. In particular, I will
incorporate all such items that:

  * correct a clear error on my part
  * add materially to the topic being discussed
  * improve on the clarity of the presentation, or remove potential
    ambiguities in statements
  * make the presentation more concise
  * other things I believe merit incorporation

So - if a comment you have submitted isn't incorporated in the revised
version I will send out, this means that I have judged that it did not
meet at least one of the criteria above. Hopefully this process won't
result in any hurt feelings, though it is already clear to me that there
will be some suggestions that the "owner" feels fairly strongly about
that I have elected to not incorporate. Hopefully there will not be too
many of these - a small enough number that we can discuss them in some
detail and make a decision.

Anyway, my plan is to work roughly in parallel on completing revisions
to what I have already sent out based on the input I have, and to
completing additional sections for consideration. The big work will
come when Joe, Daniel et al. complete their present tasks - I'm sure I
will need a lot of help to make certain I correctly write what needs to
be written on the relevant sections.

Thanks to all who have submitted their comments. And for those who have
not - please find a little time to look through this, before your
reading task becomes too great to face!

Best,
Charlie
