Subject: RC Update - March 8
Thursday day shift, we attempted to continue production at kinematics KinC_x25_4 however smooth beam operation only started in the late afternoon. Swing and Owl shifts were very productive, no major issues of concern to report.
Weekend Run Plan: https://hallcweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Short_Term_Run-Plan
Saturday: Before leaving 5-pass beam, we will repeat HMS optics studies, filling in some holes from the previous measurements. These will start at 8am Saturday morning. Note that we will not have an NMR lock at all values, rather we will wait for the current to settle, as noted in the run plan. MCC is aware of this activity, and that you will need occasional short beam off periods.
Sunday: At 11am(!) we plan to make an access that will involve locking out the PS for the sweeper/correction coils, moving the NPS to 9.5 m, moving to more separated HMS and SHMS angles, then unlocking the sweeper/correction coils PS. Tech's are willing to support this activity. Our ARM for the escort is Jay Benesch! I’ll send out a confirmation email to all after this meeting.
Who, from the NPS side, will join the access for the calorimeter move?
We can save some time by having the shift crew start the reversal of the HMS polarities during the access.
Longer term:
Monday, March 11, Day we will have a pass change; expected to take about 3 hours. I assume harp scans, hole target, … will be needed at the start, so we should add them to Short Term run plan, before starting elastic. Hall B will go to restricted access at 7am (reserved a sweep) since they have major work to do. Will there be any need for Hall C access?
Tuesday, March 12, First thing in day, we move NPS calorimeter, then we plan a Moller measurement. Time to start? (Driven by Techs schedule)
Wednesday, March 13, maintenance day (could shift depending on getting beam into Hall D).
We will meet at 11am for a daily meeting, 2nd floor conference room at CH.
