Dear all,
Tomorrow there is an all-day event described below. The purpose is to establish new research connections between researchers in the Americas. I will give a 15 minute talk on QCD research in Chile and potential for national research networks.
If you want to go, please register, it’s free and it will help them write their NSF report to be able to say a lot of people attended.
Be warned that it is not so much about physics as it is about networks of people doing QCD-related research.
There should be some travel funds available from this program.
It starts at 9 am ET (11:00 Chile time).

> Dear colleagues,
>
> This Thursday, December 16, we will organize the formal kick-off meeting of the Initiative
>
> Inter-American Network of Networks of QCD challenge
>
> which is supported by the National Science Foundation via the AccelNet Program (Accelerating Research through International Network-to-Network Collaborations).
>
> The project focuses on designing and establishing a network of networks across the United States, Canada, and Latin America to accelerate the process of tackling QCD challenges in nuclear physics. It will enable the training of students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists in international multi-team nuclear physics projects that will have a strong participation of networks from this region. Such activities will promote the integration of nuclear physics communities across the Americas. It will also serve to identify ethics norms and scientific guidelines for U.S.-led network-to-network projects in nuclear physics.
>
> This meeting will be organized in hybrid format, so both in-person and virtual participation will be possible. Due to COVID, in-person participation is by invitation only.
>
> The kick-off meeting will be hosted at CFNS at Stony Brook University. The Indico page, including the program, can be found at
