Dear NPWG members,

As a follow-up to the September monthly meeting that was held last Friday,
I would like to get your feedback on two pressing issues:

   1. How to improve the attendance of our physics working group (PWG)
meeting, which is happening once a month?
   2. When shall we meet in October to release any "new preliminary"
results for the DNP22 meeting, which will overlap with our October monthly
meeting scheduled as of now for Friday, Oct. 28th?

As for 1), it's true that our NPWG is much smaller than the other two DPWG
and HSPW, still, the attendance is quite low since most of the time we have
less than 10 attendees. It's obvious from the group mailing list that we
have more active members, either seniors or juniors, thus I am
truly striving in finding a way to stimulate more attendance at this group
event. I know that we are all busy but this event is happening just once a
month, and it's quite important because it allows, at least, junior
members to become familiar with the collaboration policies, the procedure
of releasing results, the various analysis topics and methods that other
peers are deploying, etc. I realize that one of the challenges is the time
conflict especially since we are covering 5 time zones, 3 in the U.S., one
in South America, and at least one in Europe, thus I have created another
doodle poll with more mornings slots given I am teaching in the afternoon
this semester so, hopefully, we can converge in much better time that suits
as many of you as possible. Please use this link to pick your preferred
time which we would use for our October meeting:

I understand that the early morning times are not that convenient for the
U.S. pacific time zone, but I am quite limited in this regard so my
apologies in advance.

As for 2), given that the DNP meeting will start on Wednesday, Oct. 26th,
we might need to meet the preceding week to review and approve any planned
results for this meeting. For that reason, I put the dates of the week of
Oct. 17th in the above poll link.
I eagerly request all seniors to please help me in this task by asking your
graduate students and/or postdocs to drop me a line to add their
contributions to our October meeting agenda for any release purpose.
Definitely, any new results should not be disseminated to the external
community prior to being approved by the corresponding PWG, this is a
collaboration policy!

In regard to the DNP22 results approval request, Sebouh Paul requested a
release of his new correlations study of di-pions production in the
presentation he gave in last Friday's meeting, see this link:
https://clasweb.jlab.org/Hall-B/npwg/images/4/4b/Updatesondi-pionproduction-SP.pdf
(slides 3 to 7). Please review his slides, and email him with any questions
you may have by CC'ing me. He may represent them once more in the October
meeting, which you are all invited and urged to attend.

My apologies for the long message, and I am looking forward to seeing many
poll entries as well as getting any feedback you may have.

Best,

Lamiaa
