Thursday, Oct. 28, from 3-6 p.m. in the field behind the SURA Residence
Facility.
Volunteer participation is critical to its success, according to Dave
Williams, JAG chair. A number of volunteer positions still need to be
filled. To volunteer, visit the JAG Oktoberfest volunteer sign-up
webpage today.
The Oktoberfest will feature Brunswick stew, chili, grilled foods and
beverages, an adults' costume contest and games and activities for all
ages. The games and activities are on the event poster and on the JAG
webpage. Children are encouraged to wear costumes.
With the Oktoberfest moving to Thursday, the Food Drive that the JAG is
sponsoring has been extended by one day and will now end on Oct. 28,
according to Williams. Please bring new, canned or boxed, nonperishable
food items to the food drive drop boxes located in the ARC, VARC, MCC,
CEBAF Center and Test Lab lobbies. Food donation drop barrels will be
near the entry points to the Res. Facility field the day of the
Oktoberfest. All donations will be delivered by the JAG to the Peninsula
Food Bank.
Parking for the Oktoberfest: Please park your vehicle in the expanded
CEBAF Center parking lot and walk to the field. Please don't park your
vehicle in the Residence Facility lot or along Rattley Road.
Also during the Oktoberfest, winning tickets will be drawn for the two
iPads that are part of the lab's United Way fund-raising campaign.
Tickets are $1 each and are available for purchase from 12-1 p.m.
through Wednesday, Oct. 27 in the CEBAF Center lobby, as previously
announced. All raffle ticket proceeds go to the United Way.
United Way pledge forms are available online; access the form from the
online donation link found on: http://www.uwvp.org/give_help/index.php.
Hard copy forms are available at the VARC, ARC and CEBAF Center front
desks, as well as in Building 85. Please send or deliver completed forms
to Joshua Cameron in CEBAF Center, Room B214, Mail Stop 12 B, by
Wednesday, Nov. 3. Pledge forms may also be picked up at the United Way
Raffle ticket sales table in the CEBAF Center lobby during lunch times
