[On_site_list] JLab Emergency Response Exercise Underway

Please be advised that an emergency response exercise is currently 
underway on the Jefferson Lab Accelerator Site.

As part of this exercise, no advance notice was provided so that an 
accurate test and evaluation of Jefferson Lab emergency capabilities can 
be made.

Newport News Fire and Rescue units are participating in this exercise. 
Please stay out of their way as they respond to the exercise. A number 
of JLab staff and security officers also are actively involved in the 
exercise -- as participants and as observers. The DOE Site Office also 
has an observer. If your participation is requested, please respond 
accordingly.

If you should receive any calls from the public or the news media 
concerning this exercise or any real-world incident at the laboratory, 
please ask them to contact Public Affairs by dialing 269-7100 and asking 
for Public Affairs.

A follow-on message will be sent out at the conclusion of this exercise.

Please remember: If you should ever be confronted with an emergency 
situation while at Jefferson Lab, and don't know what to do, please 
refer to the Initial Response & Safety Card attached to the nearest JLab 
landline telephone.
