You've heard about the 12 GeV Upgrade for years and been told about the
changes the project is bringing to the lab.

Now, you have a chance to see some of those changes firsthand.

On Friday, Dec. 2 - from 1-4 p.m. - you are invited to attend a Hall D
Open House.

It's a special event available only to Staff and Users and is sponsored
by senior leadership.

Thiswill be the first time that many will have the opportunity to see
Hall D, where civil construction is nearly completed and installation of
equipment has started.

If you want to take advantage of this unique opportunity to see the
lab's newest experimental hall, you will need a working Jefferson Lab
badge and have completed ES&H Orientation (SAF100
<http://wwwold.jlab.org/div_dept/train/lms/SAF100/>) and General
Employee Radiological Training (GERT - SAF800
<http://wwwold.jlab.org/div_dept/train/online_courses/gert_04/start.html>)
so that you can get onto the Accelerator Site.

During the Open House, you will be able to walk to Hall D or drive your
own vehicle. If you drive, parking will be provided on the Accelerator
Site, and you will have to walk a short distance to the Hall.

You will be able to take a self-paced tour of the Hall D Counting House
and Hall D. Scientists and technical staff will be available to talk
about their work and to answer your questions.

Detailed instructions will be emailed out and posted on Insight the week
of the event.

If you do not have GERT (or Radiation Worker I or RW II), please budget
30-45 minutes for the training, and plan to take the course by
Wednesday, Nov. 30.

If you cannot complete SAF800 by Nov. 30 and want to attend the Open
House, please contact Michelle Lechman, Public Affairs, at
lechman at jlab.org*by Wednesday, Nov. 23*.

_All non-GERT trained employees will need to register with Public
Affairs by Nov. 23 in order to attend the Hall D Open House._

Questions or concerns also can be sent to Michelle @ lechman at jlab.org.

GERT (SAF800) and ES&H Orientation (SAF100) are available on the
Training and Performance webpage
at:http://wwwold.jlab.org/div_dept/train/webbasedtraining.html
