Accelerator Operations is getting ready to finish the CEBAF tunnel
housekeeping work that began late in 2013. Tunnel housekeeping is being
planned to take place from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. each day – Feb. 24-27.
Volunteers will be needed to help in dusting off and wiping down
components inside the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility and
sweeping the tunnel floor.
This is one of the last things to do before we continue commissioning of
the accelerator, and is an important part of keeping CEBAF safe and clean.
If you aren't Radiation Worker and Oxygen Deficiency Hazard trained, you
can still sign up and be escorted for the morning.
Everyone participating in this effort is asked to wear flat- or
low-heeled, closed-toe shoes, long pants and a short- or long-sleeved
shirt. Wear comfortable clothing as it can get warm in the tunnel.
