Sorry - just now seeing this. I will ask Sherman to begin the process. Do you want the entire pansophydev-2018 server rebooted or just ColdFusion restarted?

Bobby,

Can the change for the development server be done starting at 11am-ish?
Just let us know when it is done.
Also, can the CF2018 server be rebooted at that time as well?

Valerie

Bobby,

We have a P-Team meeting at 10am. Afterwards we can make the switch for development.

As for the datasources, we currently have duplicates because we are working towards elimnating the 11G, but we have not yet rebooted the production server to remove it's dependence on them. When we switch to the new server we will have the Application.cfc updated for the non-11G versions and can then remove those datasource names.

I think upgrading our Oracle on the development server would be good. That way we can test it along with our new SQL statements that have been giving us a problem in the new CF2018. lol But will confirm with the team.

I will get back to you as soon as we are done with our meeting.

Thank You.

Valerie

I (we) are ready to make this change whenever you want. I've also got a new production server ready to go. All that currently needs to be done (on either dev or production) is to shut down the server and add an alias for its existing name that points to the new server. Once the alias is in place, you will likely have to flush your DNS cache to pick it up immediately, otherwise the change should happen whenever you OS normally flushes it cache.
Also - a couple other questions....

1) David was wondering about an Oracle upgrade. We upgraded our dev instances to Oracle 18c last week and he was wondering if you wanted to do the same with your dev instances.

2) I noticed on pansophy that there are a number of what look like "duplicate" datasources listed. We have an "11G" version of each datasource (live and tst) that point to the exact same database as the non-11G version. Are those still necessary?

Good Morning Bobby,

Just checking in to see where we are at for starting to switch the development server?

We have a couple errors to still work through, but can do those with the development change. We would like to wait a couple days before pushing to production.

Thank you for your support! We really appreciate this.
