[Pansophy] C75 serial number IMPORTANT

The disassembly traveler should be addressing the serial numbers. This tracks where they came from and C75 travelers track the new assembly.

There was an effort many years ago with C50 rework to put in place a disassembly traveler while thinking about this topic. Selecting serial numbers.

We should revisit this to see where the gaps are and make sure we capture what is needed.

We can start with hall conversations and I can pull together a meeting as needed.

Hi Valerie,

These parts have come from the accelerator site after the cryomodules are disassembled. Most of the time the individual parts stay in cabinets in tuning/cmm room. As far as I know nothing is logged into inventory since it stays on the floor downstairs. I believe the serial numbers were added in the disassembly traveler by Brian or Chris.

Thanks,
Aaron

Aaron,

What is the history of these parts?

Is nothing for C75 going through Inventory??

Valerie

Anne / Tony / Kurt,

Help please! The way these parts for C75 are being handled it will be IMPOSSIBLE for us to give any kind of accurate history, traceability, or reporting. We will not be able to put together drilldowns or CM reporting for documentation, etc. !!

I know this is a “HOT PROJECT”, but some kind of quality standard should be in place.

I can’t guarantee that we will be able to support quality reporting or documentation for this project under the current production structure.

Valerie

P.S. FYI:: Below is a listing of all the requests for parts for C75 since Thanksgiving 2019.

We have no traceability on any of these parts. I do not believe this is Aaron’s responsibility, but I do feel someone from the C75 Project should be…. Just my 2 cents.

Hi,

Did these parts come from a disassembled cryomodule?

Are they “not” going to inventory to be checked in first??

Valerie

Hi Valerie,

Thanks! I checked in pansophy and I didn't see any history of them coming off a cryomodule. The parts were given to me from Chris and Danny. Parts were being stored in Danny's cabinet. I don't believe C50/75 parts are going to inventory..... a lot of parts are in the tuning room cabinet. Also, they are more parts stored in the Radcon tagged cabinet in high bay also.

Thanks,

Aaron

Anne,

I understand that parts are coming from “everywhere” for C75, but some kind of structure (QC) would be helpful, I think.

Valerie

I think this is not just a QC issue but would need to be addressed by the project management first on how they want the parts controlled
