Thanks Scott and Kurt. Sounds like we are good to go if no objections...

All,

I like Aaron's suggestion to start at 1000. This way a four digit serial number will automatically designate the new design. Any concerns?

Kurt,
My thoughts are that if we start with a number higher than the previous serialization series, that will eliminate the concern and identify the beginning of a new designed HOM Load. With that being said and not knowing the highest last SN for the old style loads, 300 may or may not be a good start point.

Scott,

Thanks for your input. As long as we never need a serial number over 300 with the old HOM loads.

Aaron,
Why don't we start off all future fabricated C75 HOM Loads loads with a 300 series serialization. This should prevent duplications, We've be done this in the past with other components as a measure to prevent serialization duplications. What are your thoughts?

Subject: C75 Hom load serial numbers

Hi all,

I'm a bit concerned on how to prevent duplicate serial numbers between the new Hom Load traveler capturing newly built parts and the older traveler (C75-CPR-INSP-HOML) which is still used today to reinspect Hom loads as they come from tunnel after cryomodule disassemblies. As most of you know we reassign a new number to older loads to get rid of the random letters that existed during C20 and C50. I believe we are at HOML 0278 or near there. My question is should we combine travelers and just make the travelers I just wrote the latest Rev change to the older traveler? Then have a checkbox to select "newly built" load or "existing load" from tunnel. Or if we keep travelers separate could they go in numerical order together for serial number if that makes sense? i.e. 279 available for both travelers until it's used? Sorry for the long email. Hope I haven't confused everyone haha.

Thank you,
Aaron
