[Pansophy] HE R&D Cavities - L2 cavities CAV040, CAV295, CAV331, being transferred to HE - next steps ?

Hi Mike -
I am also hoping another solution can be found in the Software for existing parts that does not require a new Serial Number to be scribed on the parts each time they change projects. As we saw for C75 and NBSN this has created a lot of problems. And especially for SRFR&D it is very common for cavities as an example to be reused on multiple projects . (We many need to revisit the serialization procedure. )
Best wishes Anne

Hi Mike -
Thanks for the suggestion , however, I think there needs to be a discussion including others on how to proceed . Also the project (Ari & Katherine) now seem to have ideas about what they want to do about the travelers for these HE R&D cavities, and don't appear to have planned ahead.
Given that we will be getting the cavities next week , there may not be time to put in place new travelers . I will take to Valerie on Monday to get her thoughts on the best way to proceed
Best - Anne

Hi Anne,
For clarity, “L2” is ambiguous. Pansophy has 4 projects that start with “L2”, L2HE, L2PRD, L2PRO & L2Q0. I understand that many folks refer to “L2” as the old project (L2PRD) and “HE” as the new project (L2HE).
To maintain traceability, I would suggest using the L2HE-INSP-CAV traveler, once it is written/ported from its L2PRD-CAV-INSP-CAV counterpart. I would suggest not using STP travelers because it is not intuitive to search for project information there.
Also, serial number consistency is important. The L2PRD serial numbers are CAV0040, CAV0295, & CAV0331, as seen in the L2PRD-CAV-INSP-CAV traveler. Datamining will fail to match CAV040 with CAV0040 for example.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi All
We will be getting 3 cavities originally LCLS-II, that are being transferred to HE - Note from Katherine (18Feb2021) We will be re- rinsing and retesting L2 cavities CAV040, CAV295, CAV331 as part of HE
In todays 1;30 planning meeting I learned that in the next week or two they will be wanting to do an abbreviated Inspection (Katherine /Ari will let us know, likely RF + surface finishes etc. ) , followed by the steps listed in Katherine’s note above
I asked about travelers – Naeem said we should not use L2 , Kirk Davis proposed an STP Traveler since it seems to be still in R&D phase for HE . Katherine does not have her HE Travelers ready yet , although she may try to get these in place sooner now
So……. I am assuming that we will use an STP Traveler and type in the SNs provided by Katherine – however please let us know if you think it should be done any differently
Thanks Anne
