I have 4 HOM loads ready to go, HOML266-269. I wonder if there is a good one in the cleanroom as spare when pair4 was assembled last time.

There were 3 (258, 260, 265) I inspected previously and need to decide if they are acceptable. There are 8 more loads can be sent to machine shop for re-surfacing soon.

Subject: Nb3Sn Cavity Pair Parts (Grigory's QCM Project) coming to the CMM early next week

Hi all

In today's NbSn Cavity Pair (R&D) meeting I learned additional parts will need travelers and CMM inspection soon - this will take priority over SNSPPU and HE - I will update the schedule once we have all the parts and a plan

Travelers & SN status: Kurt Macha said that he discussed with Valerie about taking C75 Travelers, converting to Nb3Sn , without normal approval process - then we would use D3s to manage any areas where there are disconnects. Valerie could you let us know the status & availability for the travelers - Kurt said he sent you a list . The Cavity traveler appears to have already gone down the usual path and is awaiting approval - so could be put into the system now if this is still possible

Once we get all the parts, likely Serial numbers will need to be added to the travelers

Tony commented that if we do not have the travelers in time to support the inspections, that we should go ahead anyway with the inspections - and "back fill" travelers as they become available. That being said , it is much preferred to have all the travelers prior to inspection , so we will need to do our best to back fill the travelers if needed

Status & location of additional parts :

  1. HOM Loads , (4 total are needed) Chris said that Liang was working on the last 3 loads - he hoped they would be available at the end of next week - Liang could you confirm ?
  2. Cavities - were inspected on Monday , they plan to polish the flanges , recheck might be needed later , Data needs to go into the traveler once it is made available in Pansophy
  3. All other parts are in Grigory's cupboard, Chris will bring them on a cart to CMM , we should keep these parts separate from all others . this includes to start :
     * End Dishes , two to be checked
     *   Elbows - 4 will be needed
     * dog legs 120 &145 pending test, or new DL not yet built (would delay project)
     *   inner adapter
     *   Other ?

Kurt Macha said he is targeting building the pair ~2- 3 weeks from now (First week of Feb) - in which case we will need to start very inspections soon

Kirk's schedule at the moment shows SNSPPU all of next week - however depending on availability of parts and availability of travelers (with SN) for Nb3SN , we will likely be updating the schedule for next week. - more to come......

Please let me know if you have questions - I will let you know as new information becomes available

Thanks Anne
