Hi Lakshmi,

The example you have in Step 1 is correct.

The NNNN part can be shorter if needed. For example, we will only have 10 or 11 of these total, so NN would be fine.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Subject: Part serial number and Data input for the traveler

Hi pansophy team, Mike,
I have a question about data input for the part serial number in the inspection traveler.
For example, the serial number of the 2 K clamp assembly is F100040841-G-NNNN ( the last four digits reserved for the serial number starting from 0001). How do I input that into the data field? CLMP02KSN or F100040841-G-SN.
I want to confirm how many characters we can use in the data input field.

Hi Lakshmi,

I just want to clarify that you will be writing L2HE-INSP-[acronym] travelers for these parts. Will any other travelers be needed for these items?

Here are my suggestions for the Clamp Acronyms.
Part Number
Part Name
Acronym
F10040841
KIT, 2K CLAMP ASSY
CLMP02KSN
F10042265
KIT - SPLIT-QUAD CLAMP
CLMPSQSN
F10045236
KIT, 5K CLAMP ASSY
CLMP05KSN
F10046443
KIT, 50K CLAMP ASSY, FULL WRAP
CLMP50KSN

Valerie & Megan,

Please confirm that these are not too long (I think we get up to 10 characters).

Hi Mike,
Visual inspection and EBOM inspection are required.
I will make a note that we need to engrave the part number. As you have suggested, I will request the inspection team to notify you in advance for engraving the parts at the test lab.

Pansophy Team,
What is the ID that I need to use for this traveler?

Thanks
Lakshmi

Hi Lakshmi,

All of these clamps have been received and are being stored at the Bluecrab warehouse. The parts would need to be engraved with PartNumber-Rev-SN, and have acronyms assigned. If we are given sufficient notice from the inspection team, it would be better to bring them to the Test Lab a few days early for engraving.

I know there were some issues with PLATE, WIRE CONNECTING (F10036756) for the L2PRD project. Besides verifying the plates are correct, what other aspects of these parts do you plan to have inspected?

Hi Mike,
The part numbers for the thermal intercepts are

  1. 2K clamp assembly: F10040841
  2. 5K clamp assembly: F10045236
  3. 50 K clamp assembly: F10046443
The Quad clamp part number is F10042265

The part manufacturing drawings are also attached.

Subject: [Pansophy] Traveler ID for the SPQA Magnet Components

Dear Pansophy Team,
To my knowledge, the LCLS-II project did not have any traveler for (a) SPQA magnet thermal intercepts (2K, 4K, and 5K components) and (b) SPQA magnet clamps.

I would like to have an inspection traveler for these components. I am currently working on item#a. Could you please help me assign an appropriate traveler ID.

Thank you,
Lakshmi
