[Pansophy] Expiring Documents and Archive Server

We don't use an archive server so nothing is moved. For our system, it's just a date assigned to a document. Once a document expires, nothing happens. It is up to the individual document owners to monitor and use the date as they wish - it is a searchable field.

We did write a job for the safety division which will email them when documents are about to expire and they can do what they want with them.

Subject: Expiring Documents and Archive Server

Dana,

I noticed the expiration date field you can fill out when uploading a document to docushare. This seemed to be a feature that we at pansophy have been looking at using for our travelers and procedures. However, the Docushare guide written by Xerox is a bit vague on what happens when a document expires. It seems to be that it gets archived, but doesn't go into detail about what that means. Would you be able to explain further what happens to a document that expires? Does it go to some sort of archive server? If so, where is this server?

Thank you for your time,

Allen Samuels
