[Pansophy] Procedures ready for approvals

Thanks Naeem.

Allen, these are AUP specific, not STP/ master procedures.

Also, to answer the AUP vs STP question. I don’t know why they are mixed together, but the AUP procedure pulled sections out of the STP procedure for the project, so they should be the same directions within, the STPs just have a lot more information than AUP wanted. I’m guessing whoever wrote the travelers linked to the wrong procedure or it wasn’t out at the time yet.

Hi Allen,

AUP is moving on to the next segment of the project and so will have new travelers that will use this procedure. The older travelers that do use this procedure also have instances open.

The issue with the document number is that it is widely present in approved documents in the customer database (CERN), and their version of Docushare and Pansophy. Making changes to those and having them approved again is not practical every time we adopt a new numbering convention. As such, I'd like to keep it with the same document number.

I'm not sure if these particular ones would qualify as master procedures, especially as we'd need to make revisions to it in relation to customer requirements that wouldn't necessarily warrant a change to an SRF Operations procedure.

Thanks,
Naeem

Ashely,

We were reviewing which travelers used the procedures, and noticed that they alternated between AUP procedures and STP procedures. We were wondering if you knew why this was. For your convenience, I’ve attached screenshots from the database of all the travelers that reference an AUP or STP of the ACID and DEGR procedures. Please let us know if we can help in cleaning up and simplifying the procedures.

Thanks for the heads up Ashley. As for keeping the naming convention due to it being cited in documents, when a reference is updated we typically can’t go in and change the link without making a new traveler revision. That’s the only way we can track what procedure was used for which components. The only exception to this is when the previous revision has not yet had any traveler sequences opened under it. So we might as well update the procedure ID to the latest naming convention. Fortunately, we can do a database search to find the travelers with the link to get them updated, as opposed to manually searching.

Also, is this procedure AUP specific, or could we move it to MSPR during the update? If a version of the procedure is going to be needed for multiple projects, it would be better to have the one procedure for all as opposed to creating one for each project. What are your thoughts?

Allen

Hi,

I added two procedures for approvals in the AUP folder. These are periodic review updates.

The procedure names need to remain the same as they are cited in various documents.
