Hi Anne,

I just talked with Aaron about which traveler(s) they were using and that no CAVSN drop downs are in those travelers.

He was able to explain that the inspection was actually on the end groups and not the cavity. The serial numbers needed are

FPCEGSN: EG-IA196
and
HOMEGSN: EG-IA196

These are in the system and appear in the travelers/drop downs. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Mike

I believe it is an end group inspection traveler (first one on your list ) , I was told that the tuning check is done in the same traveler

Hi Anne,

I don't see a C20-CAV-INSP-CAV nor C20-CAV-TUNE travelers in the C20 project area.

Please provide the full traveler names that this cavity will be tested on.

Hi Anne,

Just to clarify, SN: IA196 needs to be added to CAVSN dropdowns in the C20 project area (i.e. C20-CAV-INSP-xxxx)?

Hi Pansophy Team

Could you please add this C20 cavity SN to the drop downs (Gigi told me he could find no record in Pansophy)

It is planned to get the end groups cut off and sent to RI so they can be turned into a C75 Cavity

We have it scheduled for CMM tomorrow

Thanks Anne

Hi All,

I agree we need to check the end groups and use them for C75 if they are good. Please work this into the plans.

Gigi, do you have a feel for how urgent it is to send the end groups to RI?

Thanks,
Tony

Subject: IA196

Hi Kirk,
I accidentally noticed a few days ago a C20 cavity (IA196) laying in the cavity storage area with some shipping peanuts in it. The end-groups look reasonably good. I checked with CMM and Scott and apparently that cavity escaped a few end-group "treasure hunts". Who know when and how it got in the cavity storage area...
I would be good to have the end-groups quickly inspected and cut (if good) for 2 reasons:

  * one set of end-groups on one cavity from the last C20 CM is still radioactive
  * RI would need to use a "spare" welded-style end-group, which is different style from all others and requires them to machine some of the parts differently for that end-groups than all the others. They've mildly complained about it.
You may check what are the options to schedule the QextFPC check and the CMM inspection.

Thanks,
Gigi
