Hi Tiffany,

Thank you for the drawing. I would suggest that the acronym be WINWGDSN and the use of the waveguide (WGDSN) should be fine.

I'm guessing that the windows are new parts and the waveguides are used/recycled parts?

The traveler will probably require special coding to get the serial number into the new acronym. I would also suggest that you put dropdown boxes for the WINSN & WGDSN fields (if those numbers are going to be available).

Subject: C100R Welded Window to Waveguide

Hi Mike -

For the C100R project, the primary windows (WIN) are now welded to the waveguide (WGD) prior to being installed on the cavity string. I would like to create a new acronym for the new welded window to waveguide part. JL0076419 (attached) is the drawing that shows the welded final component. My thoughts for the acronym would either be WWGD (Window -WaveGuiDe) or WWW (Welded Window to Waveguide). Please just let me know which works best.

I also would like the new acronym serial number to match that of the waveguide so that the WGDSN is copied to the WWW (or WWGD) SN at the time the window and the waveguide are welded together. I am currently working on the travelers to reflect this new acronym / SN and will add a note to the traveler to auto-populate the new SN field when the work is done.
