Hi Josh,

Valerie can get you access. I might also be able to, but I’m on travel so it would be later today.

Hey Ashley,

I forgot to reach out when I first tried but it seems I don't have access to the docushare that you sent. Do you know who I would need to contact to get access?

Hey Josh,

I'll take a look at this closer after lunch and get back to you.

I have this folder of old HEP adapter drawings you might find useful.

Hey Ashley,

I'm currently trying to get some adapters made for putting a 591MHz Single Cell cavity into the horizontal EP machine. I have been talking with Alex and River, but Alex has been out this week and River doesn't feel confidant approving anything without Alexs's input. I was hoping you might be able to look at this and have some insight on if it will work or not.

Alex gave me a spool piece adapter dwg to base my connection to the EP machine to. I need to know if the 5.75" OD flange on my flange adapter drawings will work for installing it into the horizontal EP machine.

Thank you,
Josh A.

Hey Alex,

Hope you had a good holiday. I was able to find some other examples of ILC type flanges and it seems there is no o-ring groove, just a flat face to seal on. These are the drawings of the pieces we plan to make. Could you look at them and make sure they will work for connecting to the Horizontal EP machine? We plan to get these ordered soon.

Thanks,
Josh A.

Good morning Alex,

I've attached some images showing my assy model for putting a EIC-591MHz singe cell cavity into the ep machine. All of the other cavity openings will have blanks on them that will have to be plugged. I'm unfamiliar with the term "ILC" so I'm not confident about the joint design. Could you look at these images and provide any feedback and possibly help me understand the ILC flange connection a little better. The spacing I used for the overall cavity install length is 50".

Josh,
I don't foresee any other issues. Just to be clear, you're having blanks made for the other ports of the cavity as well, correct? Keep in mind that all the spool pieces and blanks need to be made of HDPE.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

Thanks! My connections were way off. I've attached a dwg showing the cavity that I'm working with, 591MHz Single cell cavity. On one end is a 8" conflate flange and the other is a 13-1/4" conflate flange.

I have to make two adapters that go from these CF flanges down to the dimensions you just sent. Do you see any other issues concerning the size of this cavity?

Josh A.

Hey Josh,
This is a standard 2'' ILC to ILC spool piece adapter. Obviously, the adapter you're making is going to be EIC to ILC, but this will give you the information needed for ID and OD numbers of the flange as well as the measurements for the O-ring. Let me know if you need something different. I have a lot of different drawings for adapters to chose from.

Thanks!
Alex
