Hi Tiffany

Since the purpose of adding this step is to check that Leak check was completed and passed before any inspection starts, could you please change the order so that this step appears first.

Also could you add a note to explain the purpose, ie to  say that this is to check leak check was completed before inspection work starts.

I don’t want any one to be under the impression that adding this step to the Inspection Travelers  allows Leak Check Traveler Record  to be skipped

The Inspection traveler does not direct a leak check to be performed nor does it ask CMM to perform the leak check.  It only asks that the CMM operator verify that a leak check has been performed before proceeding with the inspection (as we do not need to spend time performing the inspection if the part has not passed a leak check).  There are multiple methods in which the CMM operator can verify that the leak check has been performed – there is a new ER5C-CMA-COMP-LEAK traveler in approval now that I discussed in my previous email on this topic; check Prosper’s lab book; or often the part is marked after leak check.

Hi Tiffany

I am seeing in this inspection traveler that leak check has been added

My understanding was that leak checks were going to be in a separate traveler – reason being we don’t do leak checks in CMM & Inspection  – and don’t have a good way to know that it was done, passed  (and traveler completed) when this part is out of our control

Could you comment on this ?
