[Pansophy] Templates for 8-pin cryo feedthrough inspection traveler

Liang,

We don't have master travelers that are used in the system. A master traveler would merely act as a 'template' for that specific process/activity and the traveler author uses it to just add the correct project. If FT08Ps are being inspected for C100R, they need to go into C100R-INSP-FT08P and if they are being inspected for ER5C, they need to go into ER5C-INSP-FT08P. If both projects need this traveler, then you need to create 2 travelers using your master traveler as a template and update the names to the corresponding projects. (We can do this for you)

Additionally, I took a quick glance at your traveler and I noticed it crosses work centers. We have moved to separating work centers/areas out of one traveler so we don't have a bulk of open travelers in one area while they are crossing work center/areas to finish out the traveler. It looks like you have a total of 4 travelers in 1.
C100R-INSP-FT08P
C100R-ELEC-FTO8P-CHK
C100R-VTA- FT08P-CSHK
C100R-CMA-FT08P-LEAK
(You can look at SNSPPU for reference on this as they have all but the INSP for this component)

We are aware that this entails more work on your end and we apologize for the inconvenience but we are able to assist you if needed. Separating the work centers helps with the flow of opening and closing travelers. Us and our system do not allow for master travelers as we can't be moving data around whenever it is need for one project vs the other (hence why C50R and C75 and C20 were combined to ER5C). Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Megan

Putting it in the master area in Docushare is okay. It is a traveler, not a procedure. I hope it can still be available for selection under the C100R project in Pansophy for the convenience of traveler users.

Thanks,
Liang

Liang,

Because this is a master procedure, it will be put in the approved procedures folder for its area of the master procedures. We try to avoid putting documents from one project in the folders for another. That said, since it's a master procedure there's no rule against linking it in any traveler once approved. I hope that clears things up.

Allen

Hi Allen,

I just put this traveler (SRF-MSTR-INSP-FT08P-R1) in the C100R "Ready for approval" folder. This traveler is named as a master traveler because this component is used both on C100 and ER5C cryomodules, and possibly be used other other projects. Historically the inspection activity of this component is recorded under C100R project, it makes sense to me to keep having it here. I think there is a way to make it also appear in the master traveler area in Docushare if needed.

Thanks,

Liang

Liang,

Slight addition, I was unaware this would be a Master Traveler. The same information applies, but with some additions.

First, incase you didn't know, the master document area is here<https://jlabdoc.jlab.org/docushare/dsweb/View/Collection-52402>. It's where we put our master procedures, forms, and now master travelers.

Second, the ID. It should go something like this. SRF-MSTR-INSP-<COMP>. The last part is where you put the component this traveler will be covering.

Again, If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Hi Liang,

This is absolutely something I can help with. Since this is an older traveler, we'll definitely need to start from a template. Our traveler authorship guide covers the location of our template folder, and how to set up word so you can pull from the folder without having to search for and open it every time. Here is the link<https://pansophy.jlab.org/pansophy/Documents/TravelerAuthorship2022PDF.pdf>, and that particular instruction starts on slide 5. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask.

Hi Allen,

I am working on getting an inspection traveler in Pansophy for 8-pin cryo feedthroughs for C100R and ER5C.

The majority content of the traveler is very similar to this one: C100-CM-INSP-ELFT, just need some updates. I am also consulting with Valerie about location of this traveler since it will be used by both projects.

Could you help me get started on the template to edit?

Thanks,

Liang
