Hi Valerie,
 Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I had a similar situation with the CMM group for years.  I finally decided to implement a queue system that prioritized the incoming work based on "need by" dates rather than "first come, first served."   Once that system was in place (I use a work center plan tab), I empowered the CMM techs to refer impatient requesters to me.  I now have to deal with the priorities for CMM, as needed, at the priorities meeting and/or planning meeting.  If you already have a similar system in place, great, but I'm not aware of it.

Adam,

I understand that you're under a lot of pressure to get this done quickly.
However, I've noticed that this last-minute pressure is affecting my team's productivity and morale.
My team has their own deadlines and priorities that we need to focus on.
Allen supports all projects and SRFOPS Quality and we work through the list of documents to be processed as they are received and approved.
We have standard protocol for reviewing, approving and processing and we try to be as efficient as possible.
There are currently 30 documents in our processing queue and yours will be processed as quickly as we can while still maintaining good standards.
Perhaps we can start planning earlier to allow time for authors to write/review/update their documents  in the future.
In the meantime, we will process as quickly as possible.

Here is what Paul said:

This is the first approval i have done.

-It seems strange to self reference a procedure within the procedure. Maybe this is standard, but is confusing for me.

-in step 3, and similar steps, it states to install a blank on the cavity flange. Is this a metal flange with a gasket in it, or a plastic flange cover to protect sealing surface? If the latter, i would state as much. In other sections, it states "used gasket and blank on upstream end of cavity" which to me implies a metal blank and Al diamond gasket.

-I am asusming that nothing needs to be removed and documented upstream of cavity 1, ie: no gate valves or BPMs.
