A quick summary of my conversation with Chase. There are three phases to APS Magnet work.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;margin-left:.5in">
Phase 1 Receive Girders. A cursory inspection for shipping damage just to let Argonne or the shipping company know. There isn’t any quality issues or data to collect; therefore no QA/QC forms or records need to be created. The Pansophy traveler can track progress,
but it’s probably overkill. A table with girder ID and a few additional columns is enough for the CAM to track progress.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;margin-left:.5in">
<br>
Phase 2 Disassemble Girders. There are ESH/RAD issues and the activity will need a detailed work instruction – to be developed with the first one or two disassembles. There isn’t any quality issues or data to collect so no QA/QC forms or records need to be
created. The Pansophy traveler can track progress, but it’s probably overkill. A table with Girder ID, Magnet ID, disassembly status, and a few additional columns is enough for the CAM to track progress.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;margin-left:.5in">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;margin-left:.5in">
Phase 3 Test magnets. Time for QA/QC. Need to determine acceptance criteria – should be a joint document with BNL. Need to write work instructions for the inspections - JLab docs. Need to capture inspection/test results. Pansophy traveler works well for data
capture, especially if there are many tests. Need to determine end-item documentation format – report form, export of structured data, or spreadsheet table. Phase 3 will start no earlier than 12-14 from now (in FY25).</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">
Regarding BNL’s traveler system, there is no question that SRF will continue to use Pansophy for SRF work. I think Chase is referring to an open question about using the BNL e-traveler system for the Phase 3 magnet work. BNL is doing the same work on other
APS magnets from Argonne so it might be simpler to let Chase enter test/inspection data directly into BNLs traveler system. Because Phase 3 won’t start before FY25, there is time for Chase to see how BNL’s traveler system works before making a decision.</p>

for the receipt and inspection of the girders and discussing the initial groundwork for the reworking. Would you have some time to meet via teams to discuss what would be needed to create the initial travelers for the receipt of the girders? In my mind this
would be a rather simple traveler, just detailing if its arrived, what magnets are on it, where it is stored, and perhaps upload either radcon documents or pictures. Perhaps I can just create a mock up traveler if that helps? </span></p>
