Dear All,<br>
<br>
pdflatex and latex are workable together if :<br>
1) the filename specify in the \includegraphics does not explicitly
contain extension (i.e. using "\includegraphics{magnet}" instead of
"\includegraphics{magnet.eps}"<br>
2) picture file exist in eps format (with .eps extension not .epsf)
and in jpg/png/pdf/.. format, with the same filename (but with its
own extension .jpg or .png or .pdf).<br>
<br>
statment 1) is straitforward and very easy to do as default.<br>
statment 2) can be more tricky but I can help for people how wants.<br>
<br>

Your latex framework is workable, but before we go to far into
proposal writing I'd like to make sure we are all happy with using
"postscript" for images. The other option is to go with the
"pdflatex" command which will not support postscript but will
support pdf and jpg files using the same \includegraphics.
<br>
<br>
Again, it's not a big deal. Just that I haven't used the
latex/dvips/ps2pdf chain in about 5 years, mainly due to the lack
of jpg support and the production of a pdf file in a single step
"pdflatex"

I started a wiki about PEPPo proposal, recalling the main lines
of our discussion of yesterday. Joe, Tony,
<br>
Alexandre and I will coordinate the write-up of each part of the
proposal as indicated on the wiki.
<br>
<br>
You will see at the end of the page links towards the latex
files. To make it easier to everybody, each
<br>
coordinator will take care of updating their section and you
should send your text to them in the latex
<br>
format which is proposed. I just put there the names of the main
file and they will create the appropriate
<br>
link. I will take care of up-dating the full tar file that
everybody may download and untar (under Linux)
<br>
to look at format for figures and references. I suggest that you
add your own reference list at the end of
<br>
your text and I will collect the list for the full proposal in
order to avoid many people working simultaneously
<br>
on the same file.
<br>
<br>
To start with, please check the main file "Proposal.tex" where
you have the list of names and affiliations. I
<br>
started from the LOI and add a few names but there is missing
many other names and the exact affiliation in
<br>
the same format that you have JLab or Grenoble. So please
correct directly the file and get it
<br>
back to me, and get in touch at the earliest with the
coordinator of the section(S) you are contributing.
<br>
<br>
Cheers, Eric
