Hi Ashot,

The screenshot that he included points to this paper:
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__inspirehep.net_literature_247256&d=DwIBaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=V3XNY-MaMKN2LuAaTdObrA&m=U-LTR2a5xJTpbURHMu6XhDfdKFB_-eBNhUWmLmw43mdFUsZW8OV0cIgDkyNTSyGt&s=OgxTFqtGw6802BwNrez_CaraY_44hEivg4_csJasntM&e=

I'm a little on the fence as to whether it is worthwhile to include. It
provides some equations, but is primarily focused on pseudoscalars with
mass <10^(-4) eV. We definitely don't have the sensitivity/resolution for
that, that I'm aware of. The proposed experiment in the paper is certainly
interesting, but I'm not sure that JLab would be the ideal place to do it:

It requires a polarized photon beam (so Hall B or D)
A magnet with field parallel to the photon polarization to convert it to a
pseudoscalar
A wall to block real photons
Another magnet with field parallel to the photon polarization to convert
the pseudoscalar back to a photon
A PMT to detect the photon

I suppose the tagger magnets could be the first one and that a wall could
be constructed. But, then we'd need another magnet in the hall. I don't
think there's room in Hall D, which then leaves Hall B. It doesn't
explicitly say, but it reads as is there is no/minimal deflection so that
the photon would go straight down the beam pipe.

All this to say, I don't see how it is tremendously relevant to our
experiment. Let me know if you disagree when you have a chance to take a
look at it.

Best,
Tyler
