I also had two suggestions / questions about slides 16 on position resolution

1-) On the right plot, you have the fit giving a sigma = 72 microns resolution so why do you have below the statement that resolution < 74 microns?

2-) Maybe I amĀ missing something but since you are extracting the resolution from the overlapping region and I guess you assumed that the two chamber have the same resolution, I would expect on the plot on the right being the distribution of the residual (x2_project
- x1) and with a width sigma_residualĀ and them extract the resolutionĀ from this value by dividing by sqrt (2)

sigma_resolution = sigma_residual / sqrt 2, I don't understand how you directly plot the distribution hat gives you the resolution

Hi Eugene,

0 is in the hole centre on GEM detectors. As you know we have a hole on each chamber to allow beam pipe to pass through. This plot uses GEM local coordinates. (origin is in the hole centre, x axis is in the horizontal direction, y axis is in the vertical
direction).

The result is from the data taken during HyCal calibration run, during which we had 4 dedicated runs to test GEM efficiency, and we scanned 4 spots on GEM. These 4 spots are in the same height.

The X axis is the coordinates (horizontal direction) of the spot, (in GEM frame), this plot shows efficiency in different GEM areas.

As during calibration, detectors are moving relative to beam, so I chose GEM local frame for this plot.

please let me know if you have comments on improving this plot.
