Dear Fellow PREXers -
As we enter the final push to get everything ready to go for start of production on PREX-II, we need to continue to keep safety as a top priority. To this end, I’d like to re-iterate the “buddy rule” that was discussed at Tuesday’s meeting.
- As a collaboration, we will adhere to a “buddy rule” for work in the hall. When working in the hall, you should have someone else in the hall who knows you are there.
- This is a very loose buddy rule - you don’t need a buddy actually working with you, but as a general rule they should be within earshot, aware of your activity, and cognizant of the fact that you are considering them as your buddy.
- A buddy shouldn’t leave without informing the other occupant of the hall that they will be alone. If one of us finds ourselves alone in the hall, we should call someone in to serve as a buddy.
- During the day, when activity level in the hall is high, it won’t be necessary to identify a buddy. But after hours and on weekends are the times that you are more likely to be left alone in the hall, and during those times it will be our policy that we have an identified buddy when working in the hall.
Cheers,
Kent
