Dear Collaborators,
We will not be having a 3:15 PM meeting today. Going forward we are still planning to do a Moller measurement beginning tomorrow at 8:00 AM with the hopes of finishing in around a shift.
Accelerator did not recover from the mass RF trips until 19:00 yesterday when we returned to 150 uA production. At 20:22 the LQ1 died. Tech on-call assessed the problem during an escorted access at 21:38 and was unable to find a solution. The magnet experts were called but were unable to be reached. We then ran the RHRS only for the evening until LQ1 could be repaired (slug number was incremented before single arm running began).
First half of Owl was a bit hit or miss with beam but the second half was fairly smooth running. Ethan Becker was contacted around 9:10 and came in an hour later to repair the magnet and was joined by Jack Segal. LQ1 was repaired by 11:59 (see log 3790309), and we returned to production with both arms by 12:35 where we currently remain. IIC1H05PK (the upstream ion chamber) threshold was increased to 9200 to lower the trip rate (see log 3789938 and 3790355).
Outstanding Issues:
1. Epicsweb GUI issue to be addressed Monday. Another method to check the status of the P/CREX target protect information was pointed out in a comment to log entry 3789532, and this information can be found at https://epicsweb.jlab.org/wedm/screen?edl=tools/HallA_O_target.edl
2. Feed forward with FFB still does not work (see log 3789874).
Resolved Issues:
1. Recovered from large RF trips.
2. LQ1 was repaired.
Best,
Scott Barcus (Current Hall A RC)
