Yesterday, thanks to a lot of hard work from Yves, the injector folks and the crew we managed to get very good Compton background rates going through the chicane at 150 uA (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764540). We performed a vertical scan (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764601) followed by the first Compton data taking (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764606). We also investigated BMW and concluded that a shift in 1H01 was acceptable (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764831) for beam spot and allowed for better sensitivities (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764735). Devi looked at the alignment (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764753) and we then went into production at around 5AM.
Unfortunately due to a mis-steer at low current components on the Compton laser table and the photon detector were tripped (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764677 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3764678).
The plan for today is to continue production and ensure we collected good quality data in the morning. At 11 the machine will go into a 4h Beam Studies to allow Hall C to perform a mini-spin dance with their Moller polarimeter. If needed during this period we may take an opportunistic access to address any lingering issues for the Compton. We will schedule any calibrations or test runs, or further quad tunning for BMW as needed during the Beam studies and later on. Following this we plan to return to production as soon as possible.
The RC meeting will be held at 3 15 in the Counting House Conference room on the second floor. Remote connection:https://bluejeans.com/256205934
