[Primexd] PrimEx D preparation

 Hi Matt,

thank you for offering the computing power. For now I got a permission to use special GlueX account,
which should solve current needs. I really appreciate your offer!

For the details of algorithm I am attaching the short article describing the main ideas.
For now I am not using its power to resolve merged showers since it is not tuned and we don't need
good a reconstruction efficiency to calibrate: if I found merged clusters I am just skipping them.
The algorithm takes "seed" and all surrounded connected modules with hits and apply relatively small correction for incomplete
transverse shower integration to the total energy. For coordinates it takes the seed channel and nearby ones with log energy weight.
I used 200MeV threshold to the cluster energy and 80MeV to the "seed" energy, min number of hits = 2 and
very rough cluster chi2 cut which, I guess didn't have an impact. For timing I selected only hits
with the time relative to RF in the interval of 4...36ns. For filling calibration histograms I also
apply ed slightly increased energy cut for cluster and pair of two clusters (couple of sets per channel).
I think it is an interesting matter with the outer peaks and it deserves some time to investigate,
even though I think I already have an answer what is it actually.
I will keep in touch with Colin, I can provide the correction table what I have right now if it is an urgent matter,
otherwise I would spend few more days to possibly correct outer layers gains.
 Hope it helps.

 Thank you,
 Ilya

Ilia,

You mentioned yesterday that you are in need of computing. We'd be happy to let you use our cluster here at Indiana U. if that would help. It is relatively small: ~500 cores, but you'll be able to use almost all of it yourself. We should have some 5-10 TB of scratch disk available to hold your raw data samples. GlueX software stack is also installed there.

Please let me know if you want to pursue this and I can put in the request with our sysadmin. Also send me the path to your files and I'll make the Globus transfer request.

Cheers,

Matt

(I mentioned this yesterday at the meeting, but I'm not sure anyone heard me.)
