Dear All:
We have completed the fit. Attached please find an updated version for the main paper and the Method section that now include the latest uncertainties due to PDF and HT effects. As suggested by Jens I have removed the fit of the beta_HT coefficient from the Method section. In the third attachment, I updated the cover letter slightly to reflect these changes.
If you have already read the previous version (v1.1), please go ahead and send me your comments on that version. Otherwise, please use the attached v1.2.
I'd also like to collect some ideas about what to put on the illustration file. As reminded by one of our co-authors, I should not say "all elementary particles behave differently in the mirror world". That's not true for some of the bosons such as the photon and the Higgs. In addition, strictly speaking all fermions behave differently only in weak interactions. Does anyone have suggestions for how to make the statement correct, yet accessible by scientists outside our field?
Thanks,
Xiaochao

Subject: [Pvdis] PVDIS paper v1.1 and response to referees' comments v0.2
Dear All:
We submitted the PVDIS paper to Nature on October 28th. It was sent out for referees' review two days later and we received the editor's first decision last Friday. I am happy to inform you that we are given a chance to publish, provided we do a good job in addressing all referees' comments. We see this as a (good) sign that Nature would like to see more publications from our field.
The attached files are organized as follows:
1) Decision email from Nature, dated Nov. 15th;
2) Our cover letter to be sent along with the revised version. The letter contains responses to all referees' comments;
3) A revised main paper PVDIS_nature_v1.1.pdf. Figures have been moved to the end as requested by the editor;
4) A revised Methods section PVDIS_nature_v1.1_methods.pdf
5) A revised Supplementary Information file that contains two tables;
6) A high resolution image (illustration_D2b.jpg, made by Joanna Griffin) for a possible cover illustration as suggested by the editor.
There have been some changes to the manuscript, some affected our final numbers. As this email is written, I am still waiting for the final fit result (so there are some "???" in Eq.(6)), but I do not expect the error bar to increase significantly.
Almost all changes are listed in the cover letter. The three major changes are 1) the revised discussion of the higher twist effects; 2) revised discussion of the PDF uncertainties and the inclusion of theoretical uncertainties in the SM predictions; and 3) revised wording for "flipping the quark chirality" (abstract and C1,2 defintion).
I will appreciate a thorough reading of all revised manuscripts to make sure all comments have been addressed properly and the writing is self-consistent. Also, not all changes are shown in the cover letter. [Changes that are not explicitly listed in the cover letter includes, for example, minor changes to Fig.1 caption (when I realize that the size of the SM dot can be misinterpreted as the theoretical uncertainty).]
Please read carefully the cover letter. I tried to address all comments, but some comments may not need to be answered explicitly. In other words, please make sure the letter is both correct and appropriate.
I still need to convert everything from PDF to WORD, which I will do while awaiting for everyone's feedback.
Please note that the suggested submit-by date is Nov. 29th, two weeks from the decision email, which will be the Friday after Thanksgiving. Please provide your comments as soon as possible and preferably within this week.
Thanks,
Xiaochao
