Hello JLab Bikers,
The life of my blue Cannondale road bike has ended. On the aluminum frame, the weld is cracked at the joint between the top tube and seat tube. I thought that the squeaky noise was a failing bearing. Due to the size of the crack, the bike shop said that I was lucky that the frame did not collapse during at ride. I wonder if the increasing mass of the rider was a factor.
My challenge is finding a 64 cm frame or whole bike for a 6’ 4” guy. Do you have shopping suggestions? As a recreational rider, I wish to avoid a big expense.
The blue Cannondale enjoyed companionship on the Virginia Peninsula; escaped angry German Shepherds of rural Southeastern Georgia; tolerated the hills of rural North Alabama, then died along a boring residential street in a small city.
Thanks!
