Dear Sebastian,
please find attached the final report of the RG-C ERR from the review committee.
As you can see they are satisfied that their recommendations have been sufficiently addressed, therefore you can move forward to the beam time request.
However, as per my previous e-mail and our conversation in person last week, since your experiment will use nuclear targets, it will be put “on hold” until the background issue will be clarified.
Best regards
patrizia

Here is her previous email:
Dear Spokespersons of the RG-C, RG-D, RG-E, RG-M,
as you know we are in the process of understanding the impact of the background generated by the nuclear targets on CLAS12. This include among others, the neutron flux and the X-rays. Obviously, this is in all our interest as such backgrounds both can negatively impact sensitive detector materials and the ultimate performance and science reach of our approved experiments.
Because this is a general problem and not specific to a run group, in order to be allowed to submit the request for beam time you should satisfactorily answer all the recommendations of the ERR except the one related to the impact of the background on CLAS12, and can submit a scheduling request if you pass your ERR, but with a condition. As soon as the problem will be clarified you will be considered for scheduling. Until then all experiments with A>2 will be “on hold" “.
Please, distribute this e-mail to all other co-spokespersons of your run group, the list is too long to be included in this e-mail.
Best regards
patrizia
Of course, rightfully this issue should not only affect those run groups listed by her - after all, the potential problem was “discovered” by run group B. So it really affects all experiments with A > 1 (not 2), except for the ones that replace the CVT (BONuS12 and ALERT). Even HD-ICE would be affected (because of the “D” and the Al wires)!
- Sebastian
